About Us

Grenus G. Majumba, founder of Generous African Tours and Safaris, on Mount Kilimanjaro

Generous African Tours and Safaris was born on the mountain, not in a boardroom. Our founder, Grenus G. Majumba, started out as a Kilimanjaro porter — carrying loads, learning routes, and watching the mountain change people one summit at a time.

Years of fieldwork carried him from porter to professional mountain guide, and eventually to founding a tour company built on what he actually knows: the trails, the weather, the culture, and the people who make East Africa what it is. That's still how we operate today. We don't design trips from a desk — we design them from experience.

Whether it's a Kilimanjaro trek, a Serengeti safari, a Zanzibar escape, or a cultural encounter with local communities, every itinerary is shaped by people who have walked the ground themselves.

Our operations now reach across Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda, but we've kept the values we started with: real experiences over rigid itineraries, and a genuine commitment to the people and places behind every journey.

A meaningful part of our work goes toward supporting former porters and local youth through employment and outdoor opportunities — because for us, tourism should give back to the ground it stands on.

Travel with us, and you're not just booking a trip. You're joining a journey shaped by nature, by people, and by purpose.
