Mission & Vision

Generous African Tours and Safaris was founded on the trails of Kilimanjaro, not in a boardroom — and that origin still shapes where we're headed. Here's what we're working toward, and the principles we hold ourselves to along the way.

Our Mission

To give travelers safe, authentic, and expertly guided journeys across East Africa — from the summit of Kilimanjaro to the plains of the Serengeti, the shores of Zanzibar, and the highlands of Rwanda and Uganda — built on real fieldwork experience, fair treatment of our guides and porters, and genuine reinvestment in the communities we operate in.

Our Vision

To become East Africa's most trusted, community-rooted tour operator — a company where every itinerary is shaped by people who've walked the ground themselves, and where growth across Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda never comes at the expense of the crews and communities who make it possible.

What Guides Us

  • Authenticity Every itinerary shaped by guides and staff with firsthand field experience — not assumptions made from behind a desk.
  • Fair Treatment Fair pay, proper gear, and reasonable working conditions for our porters and crew as a baseline, not a bonus.
  • Local-First Operations Partnering with local guesthouses, guides, and suppliers to keep tourism revenue circulating in the communities that host it.
  • Safety & Preparedness Careful route planning, experienced crews, and realistic acclimatization schedules on every trek and safari.
  • Community Reinvestment Supporting employment pathways for former porters and local youth, because tourism should give back to the ground it stands on.
  • Responsible Travel Respecting wildlife, protected areas, and the cultures of the communities we visit, so these destinations remain for the travelers who come after us.
