Community Impact

Tourism in East Africa runs on the labor of thousands of porters, cooks, drivers, and local crew — work that is often underpaid and under-recognized. As a company founded by a former porter, we take this seriously:

• Employment pathways We prioritize hiring and training former porters and local youth for guiding, operations, and hospitality roles.
• Fair treatment on the mountain Because our founder has carried the load himself, we hold ourselves to fair pay, proper gear, and reasonable working conditions for our crews as a baseline, not a bonus.
• Local-first operations Wherever possible, we work with local guesthouses, guides, and suppliers across Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda, keeping tourism revenue circulating in the communities that host it.

We're a growing company, and we're upfront that this work is ongoing — but it's central to who we are, not a marketing add-on.
